Thank you so much for your nice comment about Angel behind those leaves and sorry, this was the closest I came to this beauty. This old cementary, which is today a museum, is so full of plants, that some graves are not even to be seen anymore. If you want to know more, I have a link to my husbands discription of it for you.

Hi Chris!
Thanks a lot for your very nice comment on 'St. Marx Cemetery #1'!
You asked how I did the overlapping thing.
Well, there are several ways to do that.
I use Photoshop and there you can define patterns, here with and without the frame.
With the second stamp tool you can copy the contents of one pattern over the other, so you can 'delete' parts of the frame and make the cross visible...

Hi Chris - thanks for your comments on my last photos and in answer to your question - no I did not ask the couple - they are unrecognizable I think, so I don't really see a problem! I suppose it is a risk you take sometimes, but I was definitely not going to get wet asking them the question! I am sure they would be flattered by the photograph! :)

Hi Chris, thanks for your comments on my last two photos and the sky was real - I was very lucky! On Saturday we had perfect weather in the afternoon - the last two times I was there it was either hazy sunshine or overcast. :) I still have some shots where the sky is burned out but by focusing further back more towards the skyline I managed to capture both sky and land and with a few adjustments in Photoshop to bring out the colours - I discovered the graph and have been experimenting by moving the position of it to create different depths of colour and light throughout the photograph.

Hey Chris..thanks for your comments on "Overlooking Pennsylvania" and "Just Around the Bend" (you're very quick, by the way!!)

On the first image...the circular polarizer enhances color and contrast. It corrects reflected light that washes out images, so it produces a deep colored sky, etc. (I took that right out of the booklet that came with it!) My guess is that the softness could be a focus/DOF issue.

On the second image...to lighten up the corner, you could probably mess with curves or use the "dodge" or "burn" tool (dodge in this case) in Photoshop. I had the polarizer on for this one as well, so that could be a reason for the dark contrasts. I kinda wanted it pretty dark to lead the eye towards the lighted part...but I like dark, contrasty images (probably too much so!), so I can understand if its too dark for some tastes.

Anyway, I've said too much...I'm always glad when you visit!!

Hi Chris, what does IMHO stand for?? or am I being dumb? lol! ...and yes I agree about removing the cars on my photograph! I looked at it and thought - should I? shouldn't I? Is it better with to leave cars and people in or to remove them? It is always a question I have to ask myself! Mostly I just kill off all the people and tow away the cars! LOL! In this case, I think I made a mistake and am going to remove the cars, but won't repost it! The frame has the fotoframe frame and the almost white background - maybe that is too light - what colour do you think I should use with that photograph? - over to you! ;)

ohhhh and about the polariser that Stephen is talking about - I use one often - a circular polariser which enhances the colours - makes the sky bluer, the grass greener. You set the circular adjustment at 45 degrees angle to the sun - it allows the rays to bounce off at a certain angle. Just adding my little bit of knowledge on the subject - now I will shut up! :| :)

Hey Chris..thanks this time for your visit to "Flutterby" and "The Farmhouse"...for the farmhouse shot, I couldn't really get a different perspective...the trial went onto a small footbridge at that point that was very overgrown and I couldn't get a different position. That was the best angle I could get...I do agree though, wider would have been better!
