Hi Steve, you said:
Hello Kate, I love this image "Just Trees", the light and dark contrasts really well, very crisp and extreamly interesting. I have been checking out your gallery and you certainly Know your way around a camara !, The image "Dark Rain" is to me very good indeed, excellent vision to have even thought of taking it at that angle and in that light. Looking foreward to veiwing more as time goes by. Well done, Steve.
Thank you so much - you don't know how much I appreciated your comments! "Dark Rain" is my own favourite and I'm leaving it on - even though it got such a horrendously bad mark in that c-index! I don't care - and it's so good you like it too. You've made me feel good about myself again!

You are a poppet admiring my starling shot (20 years ago). So frustrating looking at it now! They were lining up on the handles of the wheelbarrow for a dip - and the water showers were wonderful. Thanks also for compliment about light and shade and Prague. Wonderful place we visited last year. We loved it - culture vultures indeed there. I so recommend a visit!

Never seen a B&W image and a colour image on the same composition !. (Thats what it looked like anyway). Your photographic credentials are most impressive Kate. A very different image using your old friends dark and light. Excellent.
PS
Looking forward to your creations now you have Photoshop to play with. (Re Shadows on grass)
Well I loaded a black and white shot into Photoshop - then redesignated it as a colour shot and painted in the little coloured bits! It was just a first try! Thanks for your comments. Yes, I shall have a play using photoshop, but where it will take me? Who knows! Kate

The sort of thing you sometimes see on the TV, you must have been in just the right place at just the right time!. At least the line painter had a sense of humour. Made me smile, well done, different and enjoyable (Re Who did That?)
Gosh, I wasn't quick enough to elaborate on the description! This was a b&w negative scanned in then my clumsy attempts in PhotoShop did the colour!! Glad it amused you! Thanks so much for dropping it to see my latest attempts! Kate

Thank you so much - I am very flattered by your comments on my Come for a paddle seaweed image. My hubby gave me a new lens for Christmas. Its a telephoto Nikkor 55 - 200mm. When you shoot at its biggest magnification (200mm), it has a short depth of field - ie the bit in focus is probably only 1 - 2 feet. So you have to focus well on what you want - but its a really good lens and I'm so happy with the results so far! Glad you like it!! Kate

Hi Steve!
Yes, the lady was my mum - that's her on her 21st birthday in 1935. I just thought the way they reflected in the mirror was special. Thanks again, Kate

Hi Steve,
Yes - I reckon my Light and Glass is a hybrid fractal - don't you?? I was blown away when I saw the light coming through this green dish on my window-sill. I keep looking at it myself - the patterns are a bit hypnotic aren't they? It's good to feel good about something isn't it? lol Thanks Steve, Kate

Hi Steve,
Yes Shirley was from Granada and was a terrific natural model. I loved this one with low light, black leather coat and pushing film to the limit! The old days were quite good fun! Thanks for your appreciation, Kate

I'm glad you see the same things as I do with They call me Mellow Yellow photo. Yes, the glass was dirty and rainy, but I liked it and thought it added to the picture. I just thought the gas boat and the bus shelter was too good a combination to miss! Thanks again, Kate

Thank you Steve - I'm glad you like my Lime Fresh flower photo. I was lucky - they are just outside my work window, so I just dashed out at lunchtime and took a few photos. It is a pretty thing and we are all pleased to see it at this time of year! Mind you, now they are forecasting snow for us, so I'm not really looking forward to that - with my daffodils in bloom outside and my trees breaking buds - ah well! The trials of living here I suppose. Thank you again, Kate
